Also note that attempting to dim only a single BR40 light results in excellent dimming but will have a ghost light/won't turn off.

This is probably due to the minimum current needed for the dimmer whereby the single light has to little draw. Two or more lights (I have 16 60w LED equivalent to 16 5.5watts chandeliers even) works great.

The lower setting could be dimmer. The switch is as i envisioned. It's tough to push, and to change setting you have to push a lot, so it not my favorite dimmer. Also instruction not clear on which wires go where, (tip- black may goes to black), so make sure you know what you are doing BEFORE installation lol.
